  There are three main aspects to his current research interests:
  
      *  the evaluation of new mental health services (for example, assertive outreach,
   prison in-reach, an integrated psychosis service, rehabilitation services)
      *  the evaluation of education and training in mental health (systematic review of evaluated psychosocial interventions training, Leeds Training Needs Analysis, construction of a national audit tool for mental health education & training, evaluation of the essential shared capabilities)
      * research in the field of mental health and criminal justice (systematic review of mental health and prisons, evaluation of prison in-reach, design of national care pathway for prisoners with mental health problems)
